Hello from Home Base!

Hello from Home Base!

I keep looking for the correct word to describe Summer ‘25 at Baker Maid, and the only one that kept coming to mind to sum up this season is “Bonkers.”

We kicked off with our decorated cake debut at IDDBA, rolled through shows at Spartan Nash, MDI, HEB and several AWG warehouses, walked Fancy Foods in NYC and IBIE in Las Vegas, and are finally collapsing back at home base in New Orleans – whew!

Each Show Had Its Own Flavor

IDDBA
Our big stage moment felt so dang good. Months of planning and anxiety was totally worth to see our our Mardi Gras “house-float” booth come to life with display truly representative of our home.

Spartan Nash, HEB, & MDI
Focused on building real connections with old and new bakery buds, regional retailers are our favorite and focus for a reason!

AWG Warehouses
A glimpse into the everyday hustle of grocers who want cakes that are beautiful, consistent, and easy to stock. We use these shows as an opportunity to connect with our brokers over at RAM, see established customers and old friends - AWG was our first foray into the grocery world, so it always feels like a homecoming.

Fancy Foods & IBIE
We stretched outside of our usual circles, picked up inspiration (and plenty of incredible food).

The Strength of Our Home Team
Meanwhile, back at bakery-base, our team was making it all possible.

While part of our crew was racking up frequent flyer miles, the real magic stayed rooted in New Orleans. Our home team kept production rolling, orders on track, and new designs flowing out of the bakery all summer long. They made sure samples shipped, cakes looked their best, and nothing skipped a beat while the road team was spreading the word.

They’re the reason this summer worked – the quiet strength behind the scenes that makes Baker Maid feel less like a business and more like a group of good friends passionately collaborating to create something great.

Thank You
To every partner, broker, and bakery manager who stopped by our booth, sampled a cake slice, or brainstormed with us, thank you. And to our Baker Maid crew at home, thank you for keeping the heartbeat strong.
